This is a permanent, full-time position for a dedicated Girls PE Teacher, starting in September.

About The Role

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging physical education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Empower female students of all abilities with a passion for physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Drive high participation rates among girls
  • Manage extracurricular sports clubs
  • Cultivate a positive, energetic departmental culture in our PE team

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
  • Enhanced DBS: Valid Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness for registration)
  • Curriculum knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK National Curriculum for PE at Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Work eligibility: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK

  • Inspirational Leadership: Motivating and engaging girls of all fitness levels and backgrounds
  • Behaviour Management: Maintaining a structured, safe, and respectful learning environment
  • Curriculum Adaptability: Tailoring PE lessons for special educational needs (SEN) and diverse learning paces
  • Strong Communication: Collaborating effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Diverse Sports Proficiency: Instructing disciplines like netball, gymnastics, dance, and athletics
  • Organisation & Planning: Coordination of lessons, progress tracking, and timelines

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver inclusive practical/theoretical lessons for KS3 and KS4 female students
  • Organise, lead, and promote after-school sports clubs, fixtures, and tournaments
  • Monitor and report on student progress and physical development against targets
  • Conduct safety risk assessments, ensuring well-maintained equipment
  • Promote inclusivity, engaging reluctant learners in physical health activities
  • Attend departmental meetings, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development
  • Engage with parents at evenings and key milestones
  • Provide pastoral support as Form Tutor, upholding school values of respect and discipline
  • Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) initiatives
  • Support exam-preparedness for Keystage 4 vocational sports or GCSE PE provision
