The Girlswear Designer – Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Girlswear Designer to join a succeeding fashion company.
The role requires a designer with a keen eye for trends and a creative flair, capable of producing bestselling customer ranges.
Responsibilities
- Attend regular customer meetings, work on customer briefs, and present finished ranges
- Liaise with factories overseas daily, including attending sourcing trips
- Analyse current and future trends, translating insights into commercial ranges
- Create detailed tech packs
- Attend comp and inspiration shopping trips
- Carry out trend research

Skills
- Fully competent in using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when interacting between factories and customers
- Confident and self-assured in presenting designs
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Presentation skills essential
- Excellent trend-led commercial portfolios required
Note: Various levels of experience will be considered, but portfolio strength and commercial awareness are paramount.
