Girlswear Designer

Girlswear Designer

Location: North London Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits

We are partnering with a well-established and growing fashion company supplying leading UK high street and supermarket retailers. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Girlswear Designer to take ownership of a key product category and play an integral role within their design team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a trend-led, commercially aware designer with strong experience in girlswear. You will be responsible for shaping product direction, presenting directly to major retail customers, and delivering commercially successful collections. The role offers a high level of autonomy and is ideal for someone ready to step into a leadership position within a dynamic business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design trend-driven girlswear collections (up to early teens)
  • Lead the creative direction for key accounts, presenting ranges directly to customers
  • Research and interpret seasonal trends, including colour, fabric, graphics, and silhouettes
  • Develop commercially relevant collections tailored to specific retailer needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, becoming a trusted design partner
  • Create detailed CADs, technical packs, and design specifications
  • Manage product development from concept through to final sample approval
  • Work cross-functionally with merchandising, sales, production, and technical teams
  • Liaise with overseas suppliers and factories throughout development
  • Mentor and support junior members of the design team
  • Ensure all collections meet customer briefs, costing targets, and critical path deadlines

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
