GIS Architect
GIS Enterprise Solution Architect | Ipswich | Hybrid
Contract: 6-12 months (remote first)
We are seeking a GIS Enterprise Solution Architect to lead the design and transformation of large-scale telecom network inventory platforms as part of a major enterprise geospatial transformation programme.

This 6-12 month contract role offers the opportunity to:
- Shape enterprise geospatial architecture and deliver large-scale telecom network GIS solutions
- Work on a transformative programme with a major organisation

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of GIS platforms for telecom network inventory systems
- Design and deliver desktop, web, and mobile GIS solutions in on-premises and cloud environments
- Integrate GIS platforms with OSS/BSS (Operations Support Systems / Business Support Systems), asset management, and enterprise data platforms
- Work with APIs, microservices, ETL pipelines, and event-driven architectures to enhance system capability
- Define geodatabase models, versioning strategies, network rules, and data governance policies

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in GIS architecture and enterprise solution design
- Expertise in:
- ArcGIS Enterprise (including ArcGIS Server, Portal, Data Store, Web Adaptor)
- ArcGIS Utility Network Management, preferably within the telecoms sector
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Fibre, coax, copper, and wireless network inventory models
- Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
- Experience designing and delivering geospatial solutions across on-premises and cloud environments
- Strong integration skills with:
- OSS/BSS systems
- Asset management platforms
- Advanced understanding of:
- APIs and microservices
- ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines
- Event-driven architectures

- Ability to engage senior stakeholders and provide technical leadership
- Ability to mentor delivery teams and meet project requirements
