About The Role
The GL Accountant ensures the accuracy and completeness of the General Ledger, supported by the Finance Manager to deliver a clean, controlled month-end close. This hands-on technical accounting role, based within the Transactions & Reporting pillar, oversees cross-cutting entries—including journals, FX revaluation, intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations, and more—while playing a central role in producing the management accounts pack.
Location Requirement: Candidates must have the right to work within the UK.

What You Will Own
The GL Accountant will be responsible for:

Journals: Post month-end journals, including:
- Payroll accruals
- Prepayments
- Depreciation
- Intercompany entries

Intercompany Accounting: Maintain accurate intercompany balances across all Global Expansion (GX) entities and complete reconciliation by month-end.

FX Revaluation: Run the monthly FX revaluation for all multi-currency balances and post resulting gains/losses.

Bank Reconciliations: Complete and sign off bank reconciliations for all GX entities, ensuring timely matching and clearing of all items.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Own the schedule, substantiating all material balances monthly.

Management Accounts Support: Collaborate with the Finance Manager to produce the monthly management accounts pack, covering:
- Profit & Loss statement (P&L)
- Balance sheet
- Cash flow

Audit Support: Prepare working papers and schedules for the annual audit process.

Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring reconciliation issues and support automation of manual GL processes.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced GL Accountant with the following qualifications and skills:

Professional Qualification
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), preferably actively studying.
- Considered for candidates with proven technical skills and strong experience.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
Technical Competencies
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end close processes.
- Ledger management experience in:
- Posting journals
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Managing balance sheet accounts in a multi-currency environment.
- Systems proficiency, including:
- Strong Excel skills
- Accounting software expertise
- Ability to build and maintain reconciliation schedules.
