Global Account Director

  • Reports to: VP Sales
  • Location: Home Based – UK

Context and Overall Purpose of Role

In light of the growth of the business, we are expanding our client management team and recruiting a Global Account Director to lead the management of 8–12 clients, ranging from global contracts to newer, smaller clients. This role will:

  • Proactively manage these accounts
  • Ensure exceptional client service, clear reporting, and communication
  • Seek out and win new business to continue the growth of TN Group

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Live the TNG value: “We make clients our business”
  • Build long-term relationships with key named clients to achieve “supplier of choice” status for TN Group’s commercial transformation solutions
  • Understand and leverage commercial and capability requirements to create compelling solutions
  • Collaborate with clients to develop joint business plans, ensuring delivery of annual targets while planning 2–3 years in advance
  • Build a cross-functional client network, “farming” across all departments, teams, and markets to accelerate TN Group’s business
  • Create and implement an engagement matrix for each client
  • Conduct regular client review meetings and discovery calls:
    • Annual face-to-face meetings (minimum requirement)
    • 6-monthly calls (required)
    • Quarterly emails (minimum frequency)
  • Foster ongoing dialogue to identify future opportunities for TN Group solutions
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day queries and issue resolution
  • Arrange and participate in 1 social engagement per year (e.g., client dinners or hospitality)

Account Planning & Ownership

  • Work with the VP Sales to develop annual account plans, including client revenue targets
  • Take ownership of executing the annual revenue plan and keeping it updated
  • Develop a client-specific strategy to achieve agreed targets
  • Create and deliver new business proposals
  • Track, monitor, and report progress on plans
  • Identify and mitigate risks within each client account

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Head of Resourcing to ensure accurate client workload information
  • Align with the Solutions Team on future resource needs and market alignment
  • Engage with partner market contacts to support global delivery targets
  • Provide feedback to the Solutions Team to maintain and refine offering relevance
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to create tailored marketing plans

CRM & Systems

  • Create, update, and maintain forcasting in the internal CRM system
  • Use CRM analytics to track and monitor progress against targets
  • Ensure data accuracy in all CRM entries

Client Offer & Delivery

  • Attend sales training to clarify the TN Group offer and improve selling effectiveness
  • Participate in/co-facilitate client programmes (pilots, webinars, workshops)
  • Use insights from completed projects to create client testimonials

Delivery Commitments

  • 60 days/year dedicated to client delivery activities (training programmes/projects)
  • Attend team meetings (virtual & in-person)
    • 6-weekly All Hands meeting at head office
  • Complete internal/external training sessions and routine administrative tasks

Skills Required

  • Ability to adapt style as needed
  • Strong influencing and strategic planning skills
  • Passionate about and knowledgeable in learning and development (preferred)
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities within client relationships
  • Good to work with limited supervision
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • High drive and target-orientation
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all levels

Experience Preferred

  • Background in client delivery, ideally with large enterprise accounts
  • Prior experience as a senior client manager (e.g., Controller role)
  • Expertise in client management and relationship-building
  • Background in sales/commercial/business development or similar roles
  • Proven track record of growing revenue with key account clients
  • Strategic industry expertise (advantageous)
  • History of establishing trusted relationships with senior executives
