Location and Working Environment
This position is based in the UK and will require onsite attendance.

Purpose & Scope
As a Global Brand Communications professional at Astellas Pharma, you will serve as a core member of cross-functional Brand Teams, helping shape communications strategies and plans that support brand growth and strengthen engagement with key audiences.
Reporting into the Corporate Communications, Investor Relations and R&D Communications function, and working in close partnership with commercial, medical, Corporate Communications, R&D Communications, Investor Relations and other cross-functional stakeholders, you will need to build trusted relationships, shape decisions and secure alignment without relying on direct reporting lines or formal authority.

This is a highly engaged, fast-moving role that requires active involvement across multiple workstreams, with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on quality and business impact.
The role translates brand strategy into clear, compelling communications, supports brand issues management and contributes to consistent, high-quality global brand communications that protect and strengthen brand reputation.
Role And Responsibilities
- Serve as a core communications member of cross-functional Brand Teams, contributing strategic communications counsel to support brand priorities and growth.
- Develop and execute global brand communication strategies and plans that support brand strategy, business objectives and audience engagement.
- Influence without direct authority by building credibility, advising stakeholders and securing alignment on messaging, materials and communications activities across markets and functions, including with Corporate Communications, R&D Communications and Investor Relations.
- Actively engage across multiple Brand Team workstreams, balancing competing priorities while ensuring communications deliverables remain focused, timely and high quality.
- Translate complex scientific, medical and business information into clear, compelling communications for relevant audiences.
- Monitor external trends, audience insights and communications performance to inform recommendations and strengthen brand positioning.
- Support brand issues management by identifying potential risks, advising on communications responses and helping protect brand reputation in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage brand communications projects from planning through delivery, ensuring timelines, stakeholder input and quality standards are met.
- Support consistent representation of Astellas’ mission, values and patient-focused approach across brand communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience in brand communications or related field.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and communication strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and performance metrics.
