Junior Group Business Controller

Hubexo | Stockholm OR Newcastle Upon Tyne | Full-time

About the Role

This is a hands-on, entry-level role within the Group Business Control team, reporting to the Head of Global Function Business Control. You’ll support the financial steering of a multi-regional, multi-functional SaaS business — getting exposure to everything from monthly close processes and regional P&L analysis to cross-functional projects like bad debt provisioning, cost allocation, and benefits tracking.

If you’re early in your career and want to learn how a global SaaS company is financially managed end to end, this is the seat.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You’ll Do

  • Support monthly reporting, bi-annual forecasting and annual budgeting across five regions and five global functions, including variance analysis, bridge walks, and KPI tracking
  • Help maintain and improve regional and functional P&L models, ensuring consistency in structure and definitions across geographies
  • Assist with consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, and data quality checks
  • Contribute to ad hoc analyses for senior leadership and the board — for example, cost benchmarking, headcount tracking, or commercial performance deep dives
  • Help build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and templates that the broader finance and business control team relies on
  • Support cross-functional projects such as provisioning frameworks, insurance and contract reviews, or transformation benefit tracking
  • Act as a bridge between regional finance teams and group-level reporting, chasing inputs, flagging inconsistencies, and helping resolve them

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (or final year of studies)
  • 0–2 years of experience; internships in FP&A, controlling, audit, or consulting count
  • Strong Excel skills — comfortable with lookups, pivots, and basic modelling
  • Detail-oriented and structured, but not afraid to ask “why does this number look off?”
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
