Overview

This role sits within the Global Marketing Group and works closely with business divisions, R&D teams, and global subsidiaries to identify and develop new growth opportunities.

The Global Marketing Group operates across technology, business strategy, and market development. We work across multiple industries, technologies, and regions to translate innovation into sustainable business growth. This is not a traditional sales role.

The successful candidate will help identify future markets, develop strategic growth initiatives, and create new business opportunities for Nippon Kayaku's Chemicals Business.

We are seeking a commercially minded professional with strong technical credibility and a passion for innovation, market development, and international collaboration.

This role is particularly suited to individuals who have evolved from technical, engineering, product management, or scientific positions into broader commercial, strategic, or business development responsibilities.

Job Function

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise new market, technology, and business opportunities through analysis of industry, customer, and competitive trends.
  • Develop market entry strategies, business cases, and long-term growth plans.
  • Translate technical capabilities into commercially viable opportunities.
  • Identify new applications, products, customers, partners, and routes to market.
  • Lead strategic projects from opportunity identification through to commercial implementation.
  • Build relationships with customers, industry experts, research institutes, and strategic partners.
  • Represent Nippon Kayaku at conferences, exhibitions, and customer engagements.
  • Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and business leadership teams across multiple regions.
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority and facilitate collaboration within a multicultural and matrix organisation.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and future market developments relevant to Nippon Kayaku's business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
