Role Summary

This role sits within the Global Commercial function and is responsible for establishing and leading a world-class capability building, training, onboarding, and commercial enablement strategy across Mundipharma's global commercial organisation.

The position drives the design, governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of commercial capability frameworks, learning programs, onboarding standards, and adoption initiatives that enhance commercial effectiveness and business performance.

Working closely with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, HR, Learning & Development, Compliance, Analytics, Digital, and regional teams, the Global Commercial Capability & Enablement Principal will develop scalable solutions that strengthen skills, accelerate productivity, improve adoption of tools and processes, and drive measurable business impact across markets.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to define, operationalize, and continuously improve a unified global approach to commercial capability development, training, onboarding, and enablement across Mundipharma's commercial functions.

The role is accountable for developing the global capability strategy, governance, learning architecture, onboarding frameworks, adoption programs, and measurement systems that enable commercial teams to perform effectively and consistently across markets.

This position requires a strategic leader with strong commercial expertise, learning and capability-building experience, and a proven ability to drive organizational change, capability transformation, and performance improvement in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities

Global Capability Strategy & Governance

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Global Commercial Capability Strategy aligned to corporate and commercial priorities.
  • Identify and prioritize capability development opportunities across commercial functions in partnership with global, regional, and local business leaders.
  • Design and maintain global commercial capability frameworks, including competency models, proficiency levels, skills matrices, and learning architectures.
  • Establish governance mechanisms to ensure consistency, quality, prioritization, and measurement of capability-building initiatives globally.
  • Develop and maintain global standards, templates, and toolkits for learning design, curriculum development, assessments, and capability measurement.
  • Lead operating governance structures including steering committees, vendor management, budget oversight, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all enablement and capability initiatives align with organizational policies, compliance requirements, and pharmacovigilance standards where applicable.

Capability Needs Identification & Strategic Roadmapping

  • Partner with commercial leaders to conduct capability diagnostics using assessments, surveys, performance analytics, skills data, and business KPIs.
  • Translate diagnostic findings into annual and multi-year capability roadmaps across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Pricing, Customer Engagement, and related functions.
  • Leverage commercial platform data, CRM insights, omnichannel analytics, and market performance indicators to prioritize interventions.
  • Identify capability gaps that impact execution excellence, productivity, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes.
  • Develop recommendations and business cases for strategic capability investments and development initiatives.
  • Establish processes for ongoing capability monitoring and workforce readiness assessment.

Curriculum Design & Learning Excellence

  • Design and implement global blended learning journeys for key commercial roles, including Representatives, First-Line Managers, Key Account Managers, Brand Managers, and Market Access professionals.
  • Develop scalable learning solutions incorporating workshops, virtual learning, e-learning, simulations, coaching, peer learning, and performance support tools.
  • Ensure learning curricula align with commercial priorities including launch excellence, omnichannel engagement, customer experience, field effectiveness, and strategic account management.
  • Partner with Medical, Regulatory, Compliance, and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and quality.
  • Promote innovative learning methodologies and adult learning practices that improve engagement and capability transfer.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve learning effectiveness through participant feedback, assessment results, and business outcomes.

Global Onboarding Standardization

  • Develop and maintain a global onboarding framework for commercial and customer-facing functions.
  • Define standardized role-based onboarding journeys, including 30-, 60-, and 90-day onboarding milestones and capability requirements.
  • Establish onboarding standards that accelerate time-to-productivity and improve new-hire engagement and retention.
  • Implement pre-boarding programs, buddy networks, manager enablement resources, and onboarding governance processes.
  • Define capability checkpoints and assessment milestones to ensure onboarding effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor onboarding KPIs and continuously improve onboarding experiences globally.

Tool, Process & Ways-of-Working Adoption

  • Lead capability-building initiatives that support adoption of CRM platforms, omnichannel engagement tools, SFE analytics, pricing and access tools, AI solutions, and other commercial technologies.
  • Partner with Digital, IT, Analytics, and Commercial Excellence teams to develop learning pathways that drive technology utilization and business impact.
  • Design and implement change management and adoption strategies that support new tools, processes, and ways of working.
  • Build reinforcement mechanisms including champions networks, user communities, coaching programs, office hours, and knowledge-sharing forums.
  • Monitor adoption metrics and identify opportunities to improve utilization and user effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and digital enablement.

Regional Partnership & Localization

  • Build strong partnerships with regional and local commercial teams to ensure solutions are relevant, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Balance global standardization with local flexibility, ensuring adherence to core capability and quality standards.
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices, success stories, and innovative approaches across markets.
  • Establish and maintain global communities of practice focused on commercial excellence and capability development.
  • Curate a centralized repository of capability resources, learning assets, and enablement tools.
  • Support regions during implementation and provide guidance on local adaptation requirements.

Measurement, Insights & Business Impact

  • Design and implement a comprehensive capability measurement framework linking learning investments to business outcomes.
  • Establish methodologies to measure capability uplift, behavioural change, tool adoption, operational effectiveness, and commercial performance.
  • Define and monitor KPIs across learning participation, capability development, onboarding effectiveness, productivity, and customer engagement.
  • Partner with Analytics and Commercial Excellence teams to develop dashboards and reporting capabilities.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, performance drivers, development opportunities, and return on learning investments.
  • Drive evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement through robust measurement and insights.
  • Demonstrate the impact of capability initiatives on productivity, customer engagement quality, launch execution, content activation, and commercial performance.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Healthcare Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Commercial Excellence, Capability Building, Learning & Development, Sales Effectiveness, Commercial Training, or related commercial functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or medical device sectors.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing global capability frameworks, learning programs, and commercial enablement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of commercial excellence principles, omnichannel engagement, CRM systems, customer engagement models, and field effectiveness.
  • Experience developing onboarding programs, learning curriculums, and role-based capability development strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across a global matrix organisation.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and performance improvement mindset.
  • Experience establishing governance models, operating mechanisms, and measurement frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience linking capability initiatives to business outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Experience driving change management, digital transformation, and technology adoption programs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities with experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex global environment with diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
