At Rotork, innovation drives everything we do. As we continue to develop the next generation of industry-leading products, we are looking for a Global Category Manager – New Product Development (NPD) to ensure Procurement is at the heart of every product development decision.
This is a unique opportunity to partner with Engineering from concept through to launch, influencing product design, supplier strategy, cost optimisation, and supply chain readiness on a global scale. If you're passionate about combining technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic sourcing to bring innovative products to market, we'd love to hear from you.
As the Procurement lead for New Product Development projects, you will act as the critical link between Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations. Your focus will be ensuring that supplier and sourcing decisions support innovation, accelerate product launches, mitigate risk, and create long-term value for the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with Engineering teams from concept through to product launch, ensuring procurement considerations are embedded at every stage of development.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support innovation, mitigate risk, and create long-term business value.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of delivering the quality, technology, and performance required for future products.
- Lead commercial negotiations and sourcing decisions, balancing cost, quality, delivery, and supply chain resilience.
- Use cost engineering, VA/VE, and Total Cost of Ownership methodologies to influence design choices and optimise product costs.
- Ensure supplier readiness and supply chain capability are in place to support successful product introductions and production ramp-up.
- Build strong relationships across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive collaboration and achieve project objectives globally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
