An established and growing healthcare-related organisation is seeking a commercially focused Procurement Category Manager to take ownership of a high-value portfolio of medical products and consumables.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to drive category performance, strengthen supplier partnerships, and deliver commercial value within a fast-paced business environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the wider commercial function, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring a competitive and sustainable product offering. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams, you will play a key role in supporting business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category plans aligned to commercial and operational objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring high standards of service, quality, reliability, and value.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, commercial agreements, rebates, and contract terms.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and sourcing optimisation.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform procurement decisions.
- Support new product introductions, supplier selection processes, and range development initiatives.

About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience as a Procurement Category Manager, Category Manager, Senior Buyer, or in a similar procurement/commercial role
- Experience working within medical consumables, healthcare products, veterinary products, life sciences, or a related sector.
- Strong supplier management, sourcing, and negotiation capabilities.
- Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
