Job Purpose
As part of Valvoline Global Operations’ Global Corporate Communications team, the Public Relations Manager – EMEA is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic public relations initiatives that enhance Valvoline’s brand reputation and visibility across the EMEA region. This role plays a key part in aligning external communications with business priorities, driving media engagement, and supporting integrated marketing campaigns.
The PR Manager brings deep regional insight and expertise in media relations, influencer marketing, and reputation management to deliver high-impact communications that support both corporate and commercial objectives. The role operates at a strategic and executional level, with a strong emphasis on collaboration across global and regional teams.
How You Make An Impact (Job Accountabilities)
Media & Influencer Relations – 25%
- Lead the development of regional media strategies to increase brand awareness and positive media coverage.
- Build and manage relationships with key journalists, editors, influencers, and industry commentators.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press materials, and proactively pitch news and thought leadership stories to media outlets.

Industry Engagement – 20%
- Represent Valvoline at major industry events, exhibitions, and associations to position the company as a category leader.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify speaking opportunities and panel participation.
- Leverage external platforms to amplify Valvoline’s voice and thought leadership across B2B and B2C segments.
Regional Campaign Execution – 20%
- Translate global PR strategies into localized campaigns that resonate with diverse EMEA audiences.
- Collaborate closely with the regional marketing team to align messaging across earned, owned, and paid media channels.
- Oversee agency partners and vendors to execute campaigns on time and within budget.
Reputation and Crisis Communications – 10%
- Monitor media sentiment and identify potential issues that could impact Valvoline’s reputation.
- Develop regional crisis communication plans and provide counsel during high-risk situations.
- Ensure all responses align with Valvoline’s global values and standards of transparency and integrity.
Content Development – 15%
- Manage the development of region-specific content including press releases, executive messaging, case studies, and thought leadership articles.
- Collaborate with internal and external content creators to ensure brand consistency and quality.
- Ensure content is adapted for regional relevance and media standards.
Performance Measurement & Budget Oversight – 10%
- Set KPIs and track campaign performance using analytics and media monitoring tools.
- Report on PR impact including media impressions, tone, engagement, and ROI.
- Manage the regional PR budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize return.
What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in public relations, preferably in an international or regional (EMEA) role.
- Proven track record of securing media coverage and managing successful communications campaigns across multiple EMEA markets.
- Experience managing external PR agencies and contractors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (additional regional language(s) a plus).
- Deep understanding of the EMEA media landscape and evolving trends in digital and traditional PR.
- Experience in crisis communications and reputation risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and global teams.
- Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.

- Work Environment: Office-based setup.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50%+ of the time.
- Occasionally move about to access files, equipment, or attend events.
- Frequent use of digital tools and communication platforms.
- Clear verbal and visual communication skills required.
- May occasionally lift up to 20 lbs of event materials or promotional assets.
- Travel: Up to 25%, including international and overnight travel within the EMEA region.
