Retire the ERP.
Light exists to replace factory-era ERPs with software that feels alive. Our Smart Financial Platform gives modern, global companies superpowers—automated accounting, real-time reporting, and financial flows that move at the speed of the business.
We build with our customers, ship fast, and obsess over craft. In a short time, Light has gone from idea to the operating core for leading companies like Lovable, Legora, and Keyshot. People don’t just use Light—they enjoy it.
We’re an early team defining a new software category. Think engineers who love debits and credits, designers who care about reconciliation states, and operators who treat finance as a product. If you’re excited to modernize how the world runs money—one workflow at a time—you’re in the right place.
Backed by world-class investors and advised by industry titans, we’re building category-defining products with the freedom to ship ambitiously and own outcomes.
Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance.
The Global Compliance Manager role
You’ll build Light’s compliance function from the ground up. There’s no playbook yet. You’ll work across engineering, legal, and customer-facing teams to turn ambiguous requirements into a working system - owning the judgment calls and building the processes that make compliance clear, defensible, and scalable as we grow.
As a fintech organisation in AI age, our customers rely on us to keep their data safe. You’ll be the single point of accountability for our SOC 1, SOC 2, and PCI programmes - designing how compliance works here, not maintaining a system that already exists.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Build
- Own compliance decisions and tradeoffs across the business — there's no existing framework, you're writing it
- Interpret compliance frameworks and define the path forward for real situations as they come up
- Run SOC 1, SOC 2 (Type I & II), and PCI DSS end to end
- Build the audit calendar, evidence process, and auditor relationships
- Track findings and drive remediation to completion
- Build and maintain risk registers, exceptions, and compensating controls
- Build our customer security questionnaire and vendor due diligence process
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Product to embed compliance into how features get built
How You Fit In
You think like a builder, not a caretaker — energised by starting from a blank page rather than maintaining what already exists. You make decisive calls on ambiguous problems rather than waiting for someone else to define the answer, and you care more about controls that work in practice than perfect documentation. Organised, persistent, calm under pressure, and able to bring technical and non-technical people together around a system you've designed.
Your Qualifications
- 8+ years in compliance, risk, or security, ideally including experience standing up a compliance function, not just running one
- Demonstrated experience interpreting frameworks and building process from scratch
- Hands-on ownership of SOC 1, SOC 2, and/or PCI DSS
- Comfortable coordinating with engineering as a decision-maker, without doing the technical work yourself
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using AI tools to build and scale compliance processes
