Overview
The Global Customer Accounts Manager I manages AIT’s company relationships with customers and businesses. This role ensures that AIT is strategically positioned to engage new clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and manage key accounts.
- Oversee outcomes of assigned projects, including KPI reporting, customer service, routing, problem resolution (accounts receivable), vendor compliance, and customer interaction.
- Develop solutions that best address customer needs, while coordinating with other departments as needed and continuously working with clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Adhere to all government and regulatory compliance standards regarding AES, customs clearance, ITAR, screening of denied parties, and dangerous goods regulations.
- Analyze account data and provide predictions to management, assisting in the creation of MBR (Monthly Business Review) and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) data to meet or exceed global sales and client expectations.
- Review account budgets, pricing, quoting, and improve cost-effectiveness.
- Assist global sales team and offices with customer relations, issue resolution, and provide client solutions that drive additional business from assigned accounts.
- Additional duties assigned based on business demands.

Salary Range: $71,440.00–$151,910.00 (based on geography, as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience).
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
Experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience in freight forwarding operations, account management, or sales in the supply chain industry (preferred).
- 2–3 years of direct customer-facing experience (sales/account management) (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience with CargoWise, AS400, dangerous goods, and ITAR (a plus/preferred).
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of air/ocean freight, imports/exports (high proficiency).
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office software (high proficiency).
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail (high proficiency).
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working across multiple time zones and geographies in a virtual team (high proficiency).
- Ability to facilitate global conference calls (including after-hours) for customers/operations teams (high proficiency).
- Problem-solving, solution-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (high proficiency).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and planning skills (high proficiency).
- Strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication, and strategic/analytical thinking for business/product challenges (high proficiency).
Licenses & Certifications
- ITAR, Dangerous Goods, CargoWise certifications desired but not required upon hire.
