Job Family Group: Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group

Job Description

As Head of Regional Procurement and Supply Alliances, you will lead Castrol’s regional procurement organisation and external commercial partnership agenda across procurement delivery, strategic alliances, supply-chain-related M&A, and third-party manufacturing. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer and serving as a member of the Procurement Leadership Team, this role has global accountability for driving consistent, compliant, and value-led procurement execution across Castrol’s regional procurement teams.

You will also lead Castrol’s global third-party manufacturing strategy and supply-chain-related M&A and alliance activity, working closely with bp M&A and enterprise governance teams.

This is a broad senior leadership role at the intersection of procurement, supply chain, commercial strategy, and external partnerships. You will strengthen regional procurement capability, standardise ways of working, develop high-performing leaders, and shape strategic relationships across Castrol’s value chain, including suppliers, third-party blenders, manufacturing partners, circularity partners, and selected external organisations.

You will lead a globally distributed organisation with 10+ direct reports and broader accountability across regional procurement, strategic alliances, M&A, and third-party manufacturing. You will set direction for the function, develop high-performing leaders, and drive consistent execution through clear priorities, effective delegation, coaching, performance management, and organisational alignment.

The role will be based in Central London on a hybrid working model and may involve international travel across Castrol’s global operations.

Key Delivery Areas

Regional Procurement Leadership

  • Lead Castrol’s regional procurement teams, ensuring compliant, value-led delivery across regions.
  • Drive standardisation of procurement practices, controls, and ways of working across the regional organisation.
  • Ensure global category strategies are fit for regional execution, working with global category teams to deliver business value.
  • Strengthen cross-regional collaboration, business connectivity, execution discipline, and regional procurement capability.

Strategic Alliances and M&A Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of a global strategic alliances and supply-chain-related M&A agenda aligned with Castrol and Procurement priorities.
  • Originate, structure, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships, alliance agreements, joint ventures, investments, divestments, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Lead or partner on the transaction lifecycle, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, financial modelling, negotiation, approval, governance, and post-transaction integration.
  • Build robust business cases for significant Castrol capital investments and deliver material value through alliances, transactions, and commercial partnerships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
