Who We Are…

We are a global marine geoscience and technology business. We are pioneers using ground-breaking technology to study what lies beneath the ocean floor. We help energy companies plan ahead, accelerating responsible use of the planet’s resources.

We provide marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software. Our teams combine advanced technology, scientific expertise and operational excellence to help our clients reduce exploration risk and make better decisions.

Can you shape the future of our HPC capability?

We’re looking for a Global HPC Lead to define and lead the evolution of Shearwater’s high-performance computing capability.

Seismic processing, advanced imaging and AI are fundamental to our business, and the HPC platforms that enable them are among our most important technology assets. You will own the strategy, architecture and roadmap for this global capability, ensuring we have the right platforms, technologies and operating models to support the future needs of the business.

You will lead the direction of a global HPC environment spanning on-premises NVIDIA GPU compute, high-performance storage, workload orchestration and cloud services. You will balance performance, scalability, resilience and cost to ensure Shearwater continues to operate at the forefront of marine geoscience technology.

This is a role where deep technical expertise meets strategic leadership. Working across IT, Processing & Imaging, Software Development and business stakeholders, you will translate emerging requirements into technology strategy, investment decisions and practical delivery plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will oversee platform resilience, capacity planning, cost optimisation and service improvement, ensuring the environment remains secure, efficient and capable of meeting future demand.

Working with engineering teams, vendors and strategic partners, you will create a platform that enables innovation while maintaining the reliability required for mission-critical processing.

In personal terms…

You are a strategic technology leader who can move comfortably between detailed technical discussions and business-level decisions. You can explain complex technology choices clearly, helping stakeholders understand the opportunities, risks and trade-offs.

You bring a collaborative leadership style, with experience developing technical capability, mentoring engineers and creating effective partnerships across teams.
