Overview
The Global Implementation Manager oversees the implementation of global logistics solutions for key customers. This role ensures seamless onboarding of new business, process standardization and operational excellence across regions.
Key objectives include collaboration with internal stakeholders such as sales, operations, IT and account management teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions that meet customer needs.
Key functions include accountability for full-cycle implementation, maintaining documentation, leadership of cross-functional teams and part in process standardization, automation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of global customer accounts, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to operations, while retaining and strengthening customer relationships.
- Responsible for routine account servicing, including account set-up and activation services.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all implementations, including SOPs, process flows and training materials.
- Develop and execute detailed implementation plans (timelines, milestones and risk management strategies).
- Maintain customer account data and drive client retention and growth strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams across Operations, IT, Finance and Compliance to ensure requirements are met before go-live.
- Conduct training sessions for internal/external teams and customers on new processes and technology platforms.
- Establish and track KPIs and KPI matrices linked to performance metrics, project execution and customer delivery.
- Act as the primary contact point for customers during the implementation phase, ensuring expectation alignment on deliverables.
- Regional alignment to ensure standard solutions remain practical and executable.
- Lead implementation governance forums to foster accountability and clear communication.
- Analyze customer requirements to design customized logistics solutions.
- Collaborate with IT and process automation teams to optimize technology integrations (EDI/API, visibility tools, reporting) and systems.
- Develop standardized implementation frameworks applicable across industries and regions.
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction and scalability.
- Maintain strong relationships with key global account managers for seamless service and sustainable partnerships.
- Provide regular status updates to senior management on progress, risks and mitigations.
- Client-facing role to ensure professional, consultative and responsive experience.
- Adaptable global working environment with prioritised, responsive management strategies.
- Lead executive-level updates and support management where needed.

Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain management, with a strong preference for solution design and implementation.
- Customer-facing experience (internal and external).
- Fluent oral and written English required.
- Understanding of KPIs, SLAs, milestone activities and performance metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, MS Project, Miro, Visio, Smartsheet).
- Ability to simplify complexity and translate requirements into actionable deliverables.
- Familiarity with logistics platforms such as CargoWise or Infor Nexus.
- Strong presentation skills with senior leadership influencing competencies.
- Ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
- Change management and process improvement initiatives experience.
- EDI/API connectivity, Transport Management Systems (TMS) awareness.
- Demonstrated project management skills (PMP, Agile or Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred).
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, global environment with competing priorities.
