Purpose of the Job
The Global Indirect Tax Manager will support the Global Indirect Tax Director in managing all indirect tax issues, with a focus on non-EMEA jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, collaborating with Collinson finance teams or external advisors where needed.
- Overseeing efficient process flows, from systems to tax returns and payments.
- Managing new registrations and audits in non-EMEA regions.
- Providing initial business support for tax queries, contract reviews, and process improvements under Director oversight.
- Developing process flows and governance for non-EMEA indirect tax returns.
- Supporting the Insurance Group’s embedded Indirect Tax Manager as required.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Governance Support
- Contribute to legislative change analysis and risk identification.
- Enhance the Global Indirect Tax RACM (Risk Assessment and Control Matrix), focusing on non-EMEA indirect tax control processes and documentation.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Manage non-EMEA indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST, US sales tax, IPT).
- Oversee VAT return cycles across multiple regions.
- Maintain indirect tax provisions and support cashflow forecasting.
Advisory & Business Partnering
- Partner with the Director to provide indirect tax advice to commercial and product teams. Assist the Insurance Group with IPT queries.
- Serve as the first point of contact for contract reviews and risk management.
- Collaborate with the EMEA Indirect Tax Manager to deliver indirect tax training for finance and commercial teams.
Technology, Processes & Automation
- Improve automation tool usage (e.g., Vertex), exploring AI integration for non-EMEA regions.
- Embed indirect tax requirements into ERP and billing systems.
- Enhance process documentation in Loctax.

Projects & Transformation
- Conduct deep-dive health checks on VAT/IPT processes outside EMEA.
- Support EMEA team expansion where applicable.
Regional Responsibility
- Americas: Support with sales tax filings, disclosures, registrations, and audits.
- APAC: Assist with Japanese consumption tax and regional compliance scaling.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- 6+ years of progressive indirect tax experience, covering multiple jurisdictions.
- Preferred industry experience: Commerce/insurance (especially partial exemption and IPT).
- Ability to work effectively in a small team with strong global compliance expertise.
- Experience implementing and managing automation tools for indirect tax processes.
- Commercial awareness with proven ability to partner with business teams.
