This highly acquisitive international events and entertainment business operates across multiple sectors including sports, arts, automotive and gastronomy. The organisation delivers world-class experiences for millions of people each year. With annual revenues growing rapidly, the employee workforce is expanding all the time with operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
As the first global indirect tax expert, this is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially focused organisation during a period of continued international growth and investment. To be successful in this role, you'll be an experienced indirect tax professional with 7+ years' experience gained within a multinational business or leading advisory firm. You'll bring strong international VAT/GST expertise, a good understanding of US indirect taxes, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to provide commercially focused advice across a complex global organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global indirect tax agenda across a diverse international business.
- Take ownership of indirect tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate and timely VAT, GST, sales tax and related compliance obligations.
- Provide commercially focused indirect tax advice to senior stakeholders.
- Identify tax risks and implement practical mitigation strategies.
- Monitor legislative developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Lead indirect tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
- Review commercial contracts and advise on indirect tax implications.
- Partner closely with finance, legal and operational teams on business initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day indirect tax queries.
- Manage relationships with external advisers across multiple territories.
- Support the ongoing development of tax governance, processes and controls.
- Drive improvements in tax technology, including ERP systems initiatives.
- Deliver training to finance and business teams to enhance indirect tax awareness.
- Influence strategic decision-making through clear, pragmatic tax advice.
- Contribute to the continued growth of a high-performing international tax function.

About you:
- Minimum of 7 years indirect tax experience
- CTA qualified preferred, ATT minimum
- VAT trained in a UK Big 4 or top 10 firm
- Confident communicator able to influence and explain complex tax matters in plain language
- Inquisitive self-starter able to think and make key decisions independently
