Global Infrastructure Leader – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working)
Are you a strategic infrastructure leader with a passion for driving global technology transformation?
Our client, a recognised global market leader, is seeking an experienced Global Infrastructure Leader to join their technology leadership team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape and lead enterprise-scale infrastructure services across a complex international environment, ensuring the delivery of secure, resilient and high-performing technology platforms that support thousands of users worldwide.
Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will play a key role in defining infrastructure strategy, leading global teams, driving operational excellence, and influencing the future direction of critical technology services.
The Opportunity
As the Global Infrastructure Leader, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad infrastructure estate encompassing:
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Cloud Engineering
- Server & Compute Platforms
- Collaboration Technologies
- Enterprise Infrastructure Services
You will be responsible for setting the vision and roadmap for infrastructure services, ensuring they remain secure, scalable, cost-effective and aligned with wider business objectives.
Working closely with architecture, cyber security, applications and business technology teams, you will lead infrastructure modernisation initiatives while ensuring operational stability across a global estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global infrastructure strategy aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Lead and develop a globally distributed infrastructure function, providing direction, mentoring and governance to senior infrastructure leaders and regional teams.
- Drive operational excellence across infrastructure services, ensuring performance, availability and reliability targets are consistently achieved.
- Champion cloud-first principles, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform standardisation.
- Own infrastructure roadmaps, lifecycle planning, platform modernisation programmes and technical debt reduction initiatives.
- Establish and maintain global infrastructure standards, policies and architectural principles.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, audit and governance requirements.
- Strengthen cyber resilience across infrastructure platforms, including identity, privileged access, backup, recovery and business continuity capabilities.
- Lead relationships with strategic technology vendors and managed service providers, driving value, accountability and service quality.
- Oversee infrastructure budgets, cost optimisation initiatives and licence management.
- Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and business-critical infrastructure issues.
- Deliver clear reporting and insights to executive stakeholders on service performance, operational risk and strategic outcomes.
- Support infrastructure aspects of acquisitions, integrations and transformation programmes where required.

About You
You will have a proven infrastructure leader who combines strategic vision with strong operational delivery capability.
You will bring:
- 10+ years' experience within enterprise infrastructure leadership roles.
- A track record of managing large-scale global infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge across cloud, compute, networking, collaboration and identity technologies.
- Demonstrated success leading infrastructure transformation and modernisation programmes.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms including Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS environments.
- Experience building, leading and developing high-performing technical teams across multiple geographies.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Expertise in infrastructure governance, service management and operational best practice.
- Experience managing budgets, commercial agreements and large-scale service contracts.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

Desirable
- ITIL certification.
- Knowledge of ISO and infrastructure governance frameworks.
- Experience within a professional services or highly regulated environment.
- Exposure to large-scale global transformation programmes.
