Sales Associate – UK Institutional Distribution Team

About the Role
Given the rapid growth of Nuveen’s UK business, an opportunity has arisen for a Sales Associate to support the UK distribution team within the Institutional Sales division. This position offers an exciting chance to work in a collegiate, expanding team, driving sales and delivering exceptional client experiences. The role involves engaging with institutional investors, financial advisors, and corporate platforms across the UK, while collaborating with global affiliates.
The selected candidate will:
- Engage with leading institutional investors
- Expand their expertise through training in product knowledge, process & systems, and relationship management
- Work in a dynamic environment prioritising client-centric growth
Key Responsibilities
Client & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with industry databases (e.g. Mandatewire, Pension Funds Online, Preqin) to research market trends, asset allocation preferences, and client engagement behaviours
- Support sales and consultant leads by compiling client and prospect briefs, meeting agendas, and preparation materials for external engagements
- Coordinate and attends key meetings with clients and prospects
- Handle client inquiries and communications, ensuring smooth interaction between the firm and its stakeholders
- Manage Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, liaising with specialised investment professionals to showcase product breadth
Commerce & Administration
- Maintain and improve CRM data (Salesforce) alongside supporting back-office databases
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and track incumbent manager searches
- Foster strong internal relationships with:
- Portfolios managers
- Product specialists
- Global teams
- Contribute to internal business planning, strategy documents and UK distribution reports
- Assist marketing teams in event coordination, social media campaigns, and new product initiatives
- Continuously suggest process improvements and efficiencies across systems and workflows

Reporting & Operations
- Oversee standardised reporting and data management for UK distribution channels and senior management
- Ensure sales materials, prospect/client information, and documentation are current, accurate and well-organised
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Essential
✅ Excellent communication & interpersonal skills – both written and verbal ✅ Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data analysis a plus ✅ Strong work ethic – self-assured, professional, and initiatives-driven with minimal supervision ✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a collegial, cross-functional team ✅ Confident in managing stakeholder expectations and engaging effectively at all management levels (including executive leadership) ✅ Exceptional time management & prioritisation skills – thrives under tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail ✅ Analytical mindset – interprets quantitative and qualitative data and contextualises insights for internal and external audiences ✅ Collaboration-leadership – develops suspicious messaging for diverse stakeholders while thriving in a partnership-based culture
Preferred
- Background in asset management or related financial services
- Experience working in team-based sales, client service or distribution environments
