Global Institutional, Sales Support Associate, Based in London
Sales Associate – UK Institutional Distribution Team
Overview of the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Associate to support Nuveen’s Institutional sales team, capitalising on the UK business growth. This role is ideal for joining a collegiate, expanding team to help drive sales and enhance client experiences.
The UK distribution team collaborates closely with:
- Institutional investors
- Investment advisors
- Financial institutions and platforms
The role offers:
- Work with the largest institutional investors
- Broad exposure to investment products
- Development in product knowledge, relationships, and systems
Key Responsibilities

Client and Market Analysis
- Understand current and prospective client relationships
- Assess asset allocation preferences and trends through market research (industry databases like Mandatewire, pensionfundsonline, Preqin)

Sales Support
- Assist sales and consultant leads with meeting preparation (collating client history and prospect insights)
- Aid in coordinating key client meetings and events

Proposal & CRM Management
- Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
- Maintain accurate client/investor information across CRM (Salesforce) and databases
- Ensure compliance with and improve reporting/data management systems

Business Development & Training
- Proactively identify new opportunities
- Enhance familiarity with incumbent manager searches
- Develop strong internal relationships with portfolio managers, product specialists, and global teams

- Long-Term Planning & Process Improvement
- Contribute to business planning & strategy materials
- Assist marketing team on client events, social media, and product initiatives
- Suggest systems/process enhancements
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Success in this role requires:
Essential:
- Strong communications (written/verbal) with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Professional, industrious attitude driven by energy and proactive independence
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
- Demonstrate confidence and leadership with strong problem-solving mindset
- Effective cross-level communication—client-facing, internal management, and executive engagements
- Capable of handling high workloads with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in data analysis and clear, concise communication of findings
- A reciprocal, partnership mind-set with strong team collaboration
Preferred:
- Background in asset management
No regulated designation required.
