Global Institutional, Sales Support Associate, Based in London

Sales Associate – UK Institutional Distribution Team

Overview of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Associate to support Nuveen’s Institutional sales team, capitalising on the UK business growth. This role is ideal for joining a collegiate, expanding team to help drive sales and enhance client experiences.

The UK distribution team collaborates closely with:

  • Institutional investors
  • Investment advisors
  • Financial institutions and platforms

The role offers:

  • Work with the largest institutional investors
  • Broad exposure to investment products
  • Development in product knowledge, relationships, and systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Client and Market Analysis

    • Understand current and prospective client relationships
    • Assess asset allocation preferences and trends through market research (industry databases like Mandatewire, pensionfundsonline, Preqin)
  • Sales Support

    • Assist sales and consultant leads with meeting preparation (collating client history and prospect insights)
    • Aid in coordinating key client meetings and events
  • Proposal & CRM Management

    • Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
    • Maintain accurate client/investor information across CRM (Salesforce) and databases
    • Ensure compliance with and improve reporting/data management systems
  • Business Development & Training

    • Proactively identify new opportunities
    • Enhance familiarity with incumbent manager searches
    • Develop strong internal relationships with portfolio managers, product specialists, and global teams

  • Long-Term Planning & Process Improvement
    • Contribute to business planning & strategy materials
    • Assist marketing team on client events, social media, and product initiatives
    • Suggest systems/process enhancements

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

Success in this role requires:

Essential:

  • Strong communications (written/verbal) with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Professional, industrious attitude driven by energy and proactive independence
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Demonstrate confidence and leadership with strong problem-solving mindset
  • Effective cross-level communication—client-facing, internal management, and executive engagements
  • Capable of handling high workloads with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient in data analysis and clear, concise communication of findings
  • A reciprocal, partnership mind-set with strong team collaboration

Preferred:

  • Background in asset management
