Job Mission
As a member of the Global Merchandising team, reporting to the Global Director of Channel Merchandising, you’ll lead strategic global merchandising for our two global key account (GKA) wholesale partners within the athletic specialty channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a coordinated GKA merchandising plan aligned with global business goals and consumer trends, serving as the blueprint for North America (NA), EMEA, and APAC regional teams.
- Direct input into the global long-range plan, owning:
- Key product lifecycle management
- Product architecture and mix strategy
- Targeted segmentation strategy for each account
- Base in Boston, MA, or Warrington, UK, with a hybrid schedule (3 in-office, 2 remote days per week).
Major Accountabilities
- Strategic Planning: Oversee the GKA merchandising plan, ensuring alignment with New Balance’s brand vision, business ambitions, and consumer behavior trends across sport, fashion, and lifestyle.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop team members with clear direction, coaching, and support, embedding brand integrity, commercial goals, and company values.
- Collaboration & Reconnaissance: reconcile regional commercial input from NA, EMEA, and APAC, while feeding insights back to the Global Merchandising Team.
- Assortment Strategy: Drive GKA assortment strategy at each go-to-market milestone, prioritizing categories and models based on shape, share, and product mix targets, while sustaining key model franchises via lifecycle management.
- Oversee Key Franchises: Safeguard the product integrity of critical models and brands through disciplined product segmentation, lifecycle planning, and commercial strategy.

Requirements For Success
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required.
- 12-15+ years of industry experience, preferably within wholesale partnerships in the athletic/apparel sectors.
Core Competencies
- Strong deadline orientation, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a resourceful, DIY problem-solving approach.
- Deep expertise in:
- Channel segmentation strategy
- Range architecture
- Assortment planning
- Product lifecycle/dynamic segmentation
- Elite communication skills: ability to negotiate, persuade, and align cross-cultural Global teams while fostering external stakeholder relationships.
- Energetic leadership: proven track record of inspiring teams with a growth-oriented mindset, collaborating to drive common goals.
- Geographic flexibility for office location ideally Boston, MA, UK (Manchester or Warrington area) with international travel to key account and NB offices.
Compensation & PayScale
Location: Boston, MA Base pay range:
- $141,200.00
- $182,200.00
- $223,200.00 (Actual compensation varies based on relevant experience, tenure, location, and internal equity.)
