Global Merchandising Lead
Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA or Warrington, UK) – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote Exempt Full-Time | Equal Opportunity Employer

Job Mission
As a member of the Global Merchandising team, you’ll report to the Global Director of Channel Merchandising and lead strategic global merchandising for our two global key account (GKA) wholesale partnerships within the athletic specialty channel.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Alignment:
- Drive coordinated global merchandising strategies across business units, ensuring alignment with global category direction.
- Own and execute global GKA plans deployed by regional teams (North America, EMEA, APAC).
- Inform plans using global business analytics, consumer research, and marketplace dynamics.

Product & Lifecycle Management:
- Leading input on global long-range plans, focusing on:
- Key product segment strategy
- Lifecycle management
- Range architecture and product mix
- Consumer-centric segmentation

Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Guide and develop team members with clear direction, coaching, feedback, and support tied to brand vision and commercial goals.
- Reconcile regional commercial input across accounts, feeding insights back to the global category merchandising team.
- Balance prioritised categories and global brand focus, ensuring adherence to lifecycle planning and long-range targets.

- Assortment Strategy & Execution:
- Develop merchandising assortments that achieve shape, share, and product mix objectives while protecting key franchises via disciplined lifecycle measures.
- Uphold brand integrity through strategic product segmentation and model lifecycle management.
Major Accountabilities
- Ensuring strategic alignment between GKA plans and New Balance’s business, brand, and regional ambitions.
- Deep consumer insights across lifestyle, fashion, and sport, tailored to distribution channels.
- Leading regional cross-location collaboration and aligning commercial inputs with senior leadership.
- Driving assortment strategies that deliver against GKA milestones while balancing short-term targets with long-term goals.
Requirements for Success
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent required (applied or not provided).
- 12–15+ years of wholesale industry experience (preferably with key account partners).
- Deep expertise in:
- Channel segmentation
- Range architecture
- Product assortment planning
- Concept drivers and product flow
Skills & Mindset:
- Analytical rigor with a DIY, problem-solving approach.
- Strong multitasking ability and adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to craft and influence strategic narratives with:
- Global channel teams
- Regional leaders across cultures
- External partners
- Exceptional oral and written communication, with a knack for negotiation and persuasion.
- Energetic, outgoing, and collaborative—expert at fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
- Proven leadership in guiding teams toward unified outcomes.
- Ideal proximity to key account headquarters (Manchester, UK or Boston, USA).

Location & Compensation:
- Hybrid roles available in Boston, MA or Warrington, UK (on a 3 days on-site, 2 days remote model).
- Boston, MA Headquarter-based pay range: $141,200.00 – $182,200.00 – $223,200.00 (base varies based on experience, location, equity factors, and markets).
