About Croda

Croda is a purpose led, FTSE100 organisation and a global supplier of vaccine adjuvants and nucleic acids for the pharmaceutical market. As we continue to drive growth in our pharmaceuticals business, we are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM)/ Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) to manage our relationship with our strategic clients (big pharma/biopharma) to globally and drive all areas of business development within the account.

Reporting into the Head of Global Accounts & Strategy, this is an opportunity to take responsibility driving growth through increased R&D partnering and delivering support on long term strategic initiatives aimed at business development and increasing market share within our clientele’s pharmaceutical business.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Degree qualified in science with a strong background in account management / strategic alliance management within pharma/biopharma/speciality chemicals and/or ingredient sales supplying the pharmaceutical sector
  • Highly strategic and business mindset to drive business development of the account through a high level of business partnering at senior levels within the account
  • Experience in business development and strategic/key account management with a background in developing global accounts and steering with cross functional teams
  • High level of authenticity and able to share and champion Croda’s culture and values with our customers and across the external market
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally across cultures and functions
  • Technical competence in the vaccine space (ideally within lipids and adjuvants)
  • Good understanding of R&D practices and innovation processes to build strong relationships with research and product management teams.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Define, develop and implement strategic plans over a 3-year time scale including sales growth, pipeline development, relationship management and strategic collaborations.
  • Develop core relationships and quality engagement with key contacts at the customer, particularly in the R&D space
  • Increase our pipeline of opportunities through an increased number of clinical programmes at the customer which include Croda material. Support existing projects driving towards commercialisation.
  • Support regional teams to drive revenue and profit growth with one of our key strategic accounts
  • Ensure strong alignment with Croda’s Research & Technology teams on application development and breakthrough innovations aligned with customer’s needs
  • Be responsible for identifying risks and capturing insights / voice of the customer to influence future business developments within the sector.
  • Travel internationally to maximise customer engagement in all key locations around the world (predominantly within the US)
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders within Croda and with existing industry contacts to ensure successful development of account portfolio.
