Job Description Summary

As a Global Lab and System Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of product specialists that will be working across the Engineering Delivery function, NPI and Product Care function reporting directly to the Head of Control and Protection Verification & Validation Engineering Leader.
This role includes developing department talent, engineering process management, providing technical guidance, mentoring, driving consistent design practices, and providing technical solutions that meet the needs of NPI, Product Care, and Project Delivery in the domain of Lab commissioning and system commissioning (on customer site).
Additionally, you will be responsible for harmonizing processes, lessons learned, design guides, tools, and good practices globally.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the application of the departmental standard installation/testing, quality & HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices and guidelines globally.
- Involved from the requirements phase, ensuring requirements are SMART and testable.
- Manage the testing for the full hardware and software development lifecycle test management.
- Establish a standard process to assess, review, and record the testing needs and boundaries of each project to ensure that the control system is verified to the maximum extent possible before leaving the factory.
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and ensures all users are in compliance with those standards.
- Oversees laboratory safety and ensures that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. In cases where non-compliance is found, documents the instances as well as how they were abated.
- Generate standard plans, procedures, and specifications for the Development of Integration System Tests, Full System Tests, and Factory Acceptance Tests and Commissioning Tests at site plans and procedures.
- Provide immediate feedback and seek to correct behaviors of the team that do not foster a good culture or contribute towards unsafe behavior or bad practices that jeopardize our achievements.
- Ensures that standard processes, policies, and procedures are defined and adhered to in all geographical locations of the verification and validation department.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to a team to meet project and departmental specific objectives.
- Prepare/contribute to the generation of standard commissioning test procedures in coordination with System Engineering/Project Validation & Verification Lead and reference to contractual requirements and international standards.
- Gather a return of experience throughout the execution of the testing of each project, to provide a conclusive report on the return of experience at the end of the project.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
- Significant and demonstrated years of experience in power generation, systems design, development, and operation of Control System.
- Demonstrable Technical Leadership experience.
- Demonstrated years of proven experience in the position of Commissioning Engineer in High Voltage field.
- Good knowledge of overall 400kV substation, HVDC system (LCC/VSC/SVC) including control and protection systems.
- Knowledge of Overall HVDC System Operational behavior and impact on equipment to make decisions when leading system testing at site is essential.
- Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
- Knowledge of Control and Protection cubicle Circuit Diagram, field cabling, protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear, IED’s, and Distributed control systems.
- Knowledge of Requirements Management.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in the English language.
- Must be able and willing to work both in Office and on sites worldwide for extended periods.
