Job Description: Global Manufacturing Technology Engineer
About the Role
The Global Manufacturing Technology Engineer will join the Electronics Technology team, a group of seven specialists focused on advancing core manufacturing and electronic technologies. This role supports rapid team growth to respond to increasing global demands.
In this global position, the successful candidate will collaborate with ZF Division C’s product teams, regional plants, and global supply base to:
- Identify and evaluate new technologies
- Drive measurable improvements in performance, cost optimisation, and value
- Accelerate automotive electronics manufacturing innovations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support technology development for:
- PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) packaging
- Component packaging and PCB assembly materials & technologies
- Develop and release global standards and documentation, including:
- Qualification requirements
- Engineering and manufacturing application standards
- Design rules applied across Global Electronics
- Execute the Manufacturing Technology roadmap, aligning with:
- Core application development programs
- Customer application partnerships
- Provide daily technical support to Division C teams, resolving:
- Problem-solving for PCB, ECU packaging, and PCB assembly industrialisation
- Qualification testing of new technologies pre-application
- Project coordination across regions, plants, and suppliers

Profile & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent industry experience
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of automotive electronics, including:
- Industrialisation processes
- Failure mode analysis
- Component technology & materials
- PCB fabrication, supply chains, and assembly methodologies
- Proven problem-solving skills backed by a structured, analytical approach
