Summary

Office Location: London (The Westworks), United Kingdom

Hybrid (12 days per month on-site if living within 50 miles of our London office)

Remote (if living beyond 50 miles of our London office)

Responsibilities

About the Role

  • Lead and execute the global medical strategy for Rap-cel across priority indications.
  • Design and oversee evidence generation plans, including real-world evidence, registries, IITs, and post-marketing studies.
  • Drive scientific engagement with KOLs, investigators, patient advocacy groups, and scientific societies.
  • Provide medical leadership for major congresses, advisory boards, and scientific publication activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to inform clinical development, regulatory, access, and launch strategies.
  • Monitor emerging scientific data and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Represent Global Medical Affairs in governance forums and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliant communication of scientific evidence and maintain the highest standards of medical governance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cell and gene therapies and evolving autoimmune disease treatment approaches.

Essential For The Role

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree such as Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, or equivalent; medical degree preferred.
  • Significant experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries with increasing scientific or medical responsibility.
  • Proven expertise in immunology, autoimmune diseases, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Strong understanding of cell and gene therapies or other advanced therapeutic modalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a global matrix environment.
  • Experience in scientific engagement, evidence generation, and strategic medical planning.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, ethical, and compliance requirements within medical affairs.

Desirable For The Role

  • Experience supporting development, launch, or lifecycle management of advanced therapies, including cell or gene therapies.
  • Strong understanding of CAR-T therapies and their application across oncology or autoimmune disease settings.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: £93,870 to £174,330

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies, and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
