Role Overview
The Global New Business Director will play a pivotal role in driving strategic commercial growth and exceeding new business quotas for the Global Risk Insights (GRI) team. Based in London, this senior leadership position involves:
- Managing, coaching, and scaling a high-performing team of sales executives and specialists (based globally in the UK, US, and Singapore)
- Accelerating subscription revenue for two of the world’s most respected intelligence brands: Dragonfly and Oxford Analytica
- Transforming sales operations into a highly sophisticated, data-led engine through:
- Leveraging metrics, market segmentation, and structured pipelines
- Uncovering new buying centers
- Ensuring the team reliably meets revenue expectations
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Directly manage, motivate, and coach sales teams globally to consistently hit revenue targets
- Provide continuous mentorship on complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, commercial negotiations, and high-value pipeline management
- Foster a high-performance culture built on:
- Accountability
- Collaborative execution
- Professional development
Pipeline & Ecosystem Development
- Lead teams in proactive new business pipeline generation through:
- Rigorous territory planning
- Individual prospecting
- Strategically engage in networking events, conferences, and targeted marketing campaigns to maximize reach
- Partner with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to:
- Optimize outbound prospecting strategies
- Accelerate lead qualification
- Increase market penetration
- Strengthen cross-functional selling teams to capture enterprise-wide opportunities
- Establish bidirectional referrals with the Dow Jones B2B Sales organisation

Data-Led Revenue & Strategy Execution
- Develop the team into a highly efficient, data-driven sales engine, employing:
- Pipeline coverage tracking
- Sales velocity insights
- Conversion metrics
- CRM excellence
- Quota roadmap clarity
- ICP segmentation
- Hold ownership of the global new business pipeline, providing accurate forecasting for leadership to ensure quota delivery
Go-To-Market & Product Positioning
- Drive net-new enterprise subscription growth across Dragonfly’s operational security intelligence and Oxford Analytica’s macro-political foresight
- Articulate value propositions that combine:
- Proprietary data
- Original research
- Expert analysis
- Position GRI’s content sets as complementary to Dow Jones Risk and Compliance products
- Sell high-value, complex information solutions that empower clients to:
- Manage downside risk
- Build operational resilience
Executive Stakeholder Engagement
- Function as an executive sponsor in high-impact deals, building trusted relationships with:
- C-suite executives
- Corporate decision-makers
- Financial and government stakeholders
- Model consultative, solution-based selling that aligns risk products with client business priorities
Skills & Experience Required
Sales Leadership Experience
- Minimum 10 years in Sales
- 5 years in leadership, including:
- Directing B2B teams
- Demonstrating a track record of consistently exceeding group quotas in competitive markets
Domain Expertise
- Deep experience with subscription-based information services, including:
- Geopolitical risk intelligence
- Country risk datasets
- Security analysis solutions
- Preference for candidates with experience:
- Advisory sales
Data-Driven Methodology
- Proven ability to design, implement, and run structured, data-led sales engines
- Proficiency in:
- Data analytics
- CRM workflows to optimize pipeline health and drive strategic sales activities
Matrixed & Collaborative Selling
- Experience navigating complex corporate structures
- Collaboration skills within matrixed B2B environments
- Ability to build referral networks and close complex deals across joint teams
