About The Role
As Global Payroll & Benefits Manager, you’ll lead IG’s payroll and benefits function across 14+ countries, reporting to the Head of People Services within the People Services team.
Your responsibilities span end-to-end payroll delivery (insourced and outsourced models) and benefits administration in every market. You’ll oversee a small team of payroll & benefits specialists, collaborating with Finance, Tax, and local HR contacts to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely support for IG’s employee value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Oversee benefits programmes across 14+ countries, ensuring aligned delivery, communication, and execution.
- Serve as the operational owner of benefits enrolment, renewals, and changes, coordinating with local HR contacts, brokers, and providers.
- Maintain accurate, integrated benefits data across systems (payroll, HR, and benefits platforms).
- Partner with the People team to review and benchmark country-specific benefits programmes, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Familiarise with and manage relationships with benefits brokers and third-party providers, advocating for service quality and cost control.
Payroll Operations & Service Delivery
- Direct the accurate and timely payroll processing across insourced and outsourced models for 14+ countries.
- Manage the end-to-end payroll calendar, adhering to SLAs and legislative requirements.
- Escalate and resolve complex payroll queries and cross-country issues autonomously.
- Establish and maintain payroll controls, reconciliation processes, and audit trails for data integrity and compliance.

Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team of 7+ payroll & benefits specialists, nurturing capability.
- Foster a high-performance culture focusing on accuracy, continuous improvement, and colleague service.
- Develop workload planning and prioritisation strategies to ensure team resilience.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage outsourced payroll vendor relationships, enforcing SLA adherence and quality standards.
- Deliver or contribute to vendor review/consolidation processes, covering scoping, transition, and contracting.
- Collaborate with Finance and Tax teams for accurate outputs, reconciliations, and statutory alignment.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Identify and drive process, control, and tooling improvements, reducing manual work and enhancing scalability.
- Stabilise current payroll operations, creating a baseline for continuous improvement.
- Leverage ADP and Workday effectively, ensuring HR tech supports operational requirements.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure payrolls comply with local legislation, tax obligations, and IG’s internal policies.
- Establish and report on a robust controls framework, advocating for staff transparency.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with required standards.
Role Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience managing multi-country payroll operations, including insourced and outsourced models.
- Experience overseeing benefits administration across multiple jurisdictions, including broker/provider relationships.
- Strong leadership skills for managing and developing a team of payroll professionals.
- Hands-on experience with ADP in a multi-country payroll setting.
- Deep understanding of payroll compliance, statutory frameworks, and audit controls across diverse jurisdictions.
- Track record of improving payroll processes in complex organisations.
- Ability to manage vendor SLAs and hold vendors rigorously to account.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, especially with Finance and Tax.

- Industry-specific experience in fintech or financial services.
- Familiarity with Workday in payroll/HR/benefits contexts.
- Insights into benefits benchmarking/renewal processes or multi-geography management.
- Experience with payroll vendor consolidation exercises.
- Prior exposure to matrix-structured HR functions.
Additional lesser requirements:
- Comfortable building structured processes and controls from the ground up.
