Global Project Management Leader (OneSource Program)

Location
- Primary: Remote (based in the UK, with office presence at AstraZeneca customer sites)
- Travel: Domestic & international (estimates ~25–30%) and local travel (Cambridge or Macclesfield, UK)
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Programme Manager & Program Ambassador capable of excelling in a high-paced global environment with a primary focus on governance, change management, and delivery for a major OneSource account. The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

- Strong customer relationship management
- Proficiency in global matrix environments
The OneSource team operates as an outsourced service provider on-site at customers, managing laboratory professional services and supporting operational excellence. The role includes managing multiple international sites in Europe and the USA.
Key person specifications: Ideal candidates should have prior experience in: ✔ Laboratory operations (e.g., lab management, scientific services) ✔ Programme/Project leadership (coordinating multi-workstream, cross-functional initiatives) ✔ Proficiency in:
- Project/change management tools (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
- Corporate processes (inventory, scope change, contract renewals)
Key Responsibilities
Account Governance & Operational Oversight
- Manage the full lifecycle of the programme operating cycle, including:
- Scope of works (SOW)
- Change requests & governance documentation
- Renewal scheduling & financial planning
- Resource allocation & contingency plans
- Define operational standards to ensure consistent execution across geographies

Project & Site Implementation
- Lead end-to-end new site programmes, including:
- Workstream coordination
- Governance reporting
- Budget management
- Risk & mitigation planning
- Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and resource optimisation
Customer & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Represent PerkinElmer in quarterly/monthly customer meetings with the OneSource global team
- Prepare and review:
- Programme KPIs & scheduled performance metrics
- Financial & operational risks
- Scope & change management progress
- Address action items from quarterly business reviews and escalate high-risk issues to leadership or senior stakeholders
- Schedule and chair internal programme meetings (with PerkinElmer back-office functions)
Continuous Improvement & Process Development
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across all sites
- Align PerkinElmer’s company-wide best practices with customised customer requirements
- Develop/most uk Everyday operational processes, including:
- Invoicing & financial management
- Service provider coordination (vendors, subcontractors)
- Change control protocols and scope expansion opportunities
Requirements
Essential (Must-Haves)
- ≥3 years of experience as a Programme Manager, Project Manager, or equivalent operational function
- Direct experience in laboratory environments, with established networks
- Experience managing global cross-functional projects in a matrixed organisation
- Demonstrable success in fast-paced, multi-priority environments (e.g., multiple overlapping deadlines)
- Clear communication skills with strong emotional intelligence
- Proven ability to lead teams with a collaborative, customer-centric approach
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Power BI & Smartsheets
- MS Project
- Experience with/knowledge of AI tools for productivity gains

Certifications & Education
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced or specialised degree preferred)
Desirable/Supportive
- Certification in business frameworks: Six Sigma, Lean, Change Drivers, Agile
- Technical experience with:
- ERP/Software applications: SAP, SQL, or business process mapping tools (e.g., Cambridge Method™), Warehouse Management Systems
- Maximo experience
- Facility with advanced statistics, risk management, or audit protocols
Work Environment & Compliance
- Remote-based with regular travel (domestic: Cambridge/Macclesfield, UK; international)
- Required to work in laboratory-controlled environments
- PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, respirator)
- Potential need for Medical Clearance, Respiratory Training, & fit-testing for PPE
