About the Role
The Global Logistics Category Head will lead Etex’s global logistics procurement strategy, driving cost optimization, service performance, resilience, and sustainability across all regions. The role combines strategic leadership and operational influence, managing a central team of 4 Global Category Managers and coordinating a matrix network of regional and local procurement teams to ensure consistent execution and value delivery worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Define and deploy a unified global logistics category strategy across a complex, multicultural, and matrix organization.
- Lead and develop a high-performing central logistics procurement team and manage distributed resources.
- Influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment, including dotted-line relationships globally.
- Provide functional leadership to local logistics procurement teams across key countries.
- Monitor global freight markets, capacity trends, and risks to inform sourcing and procurement decisions.
- Implement sourcing strategies that ensure continuity, flexibility, and resilience of the supply chain.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience through diversified sourcing models and proactive risk management.
- Deliver significant cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives led by logistics project managers.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with key global logistics providers.
- Establish and standardize supplier performance management frameworks including KPIs, SLAs, and QBRs.
- Drive logistics procurement contributions to Scope 3 CO₂ reduction and sustainability targets.
- Manage savings reporting, budgeting inputs, forecasting, and analysis of purchasing price variances.
- Lead and support multiple logistics-related projects, ensuring effective prioritization and execution.

Requirements
- Proven expertise in global logistics category management and strategic sourcing within complex, manufacturing-driven environments.
- Strong experience leading and managing international teams in a matrix organization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly, concisely, and confidently across diverse audiences.
- High level of interpersonal awareness, empathy, and emotional intelligence to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.
- Ability to adapt messaging and respond dynamically to feedback in presentations and discussions.
- Demonstrated capability to build trust, secure commitment, and drive outcomes through persuasive and structured communication.
