Job Description
Join our GBP Rates desk in London, where you will work alongside experienced traders to make markets, manage risk, and deliver outstanding results across the Sterling franchise.

As an Associate in GBP Rates Trading within our London team, you will work closely with experienced traders to make markets and manage risk across the Sterling franchise. You will collaborate with Sales to meet client needs and partner with Operations, Technology, and Finance to drive business progress, all while maintaining a strong focus on the control agenda. You will be part of a supportive team culture, where your analytical skills and market insight will be highly valued.
Job Responsibilities
- Make markets and manage risk across the Sterling franchise in partnership with experienced GBP traders
- Develop a strong analytical understanding of securities and interest rate pricing
- Collaborate with Sales to deliver solutions that meet client needs
- Work with Operations, Technology, and Finance teams to progress the business and uphold the control agenda
- React quickly to changing market environments and support team objectives
- Apply strong Excel skills to analyse data and support trading activities
- Demonstrate a keen interest in markets and macro trends
- Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience in a trading role with proven analytical skills and a positive approach to work
- Strong analytical skills with coding experience
- Ability to react quickly to changing market environments
- Commitment to maintaining a robust control environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in Excel
- Team-oriented mindset
- Interest in markets and macroeconomic trends
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience working within a Sterling or rates trading environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proactive approach to learning and professional development
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and trading tools

- Enthusiasm for contributing to business growth
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence as assessed by the Firm and, where appropriate, approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
