Collectively, HSB is the UK and Ireland’s only group of companies solely focused on providing specialist engineering and technology insurance solutions, along with risk-focused inspection services and assessments for customers.

Job Purpose
This is a specialist-level position within HSB’s Corporate Safety Department for individuals holding a BS (Bachelor of Science) in a safety-related field or with comparable field experience. The role focuses on assisting the Director of Global Safety in developing and managing a safety program across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Equipment
- Manage and support engineering equipment programs, including:
- Personal dosimeter radiation monitoring
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Respirator programs
- Fall protection systems
- Confined space monitoring
- Other equipment requirements
- Maintain inventory of safety equipment and streamline ordering processes

Training & Learning
- Conduct training classes (live and virtual) in:
- Driving safety
- New hire orientation
- Refresher courses
- Equipment-specific training
- Develop content for safety training materials and presentations
- Collaborate with other departments to develop online learning options
- Monitor and report on Corporate Safety Metrics
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct safety contract reviews
- Assist with site access safety questionnaires
- Conduct and lead investigations into injuries, illnesses, and near misses
- Become RCA-qualified for Root Cause Analysis investigations
- Review and finalise OSHA log records
- Support and coordinate site access requirements, including:
- Drug testing
- Site-specific safety training
- Other safety criteria
Data & Compliance Follow-Up
- Manage safety database accuracy with accurate data entry
- Work with the safety team to meet organisational goals
Essential Requirements
- Several years of experience in an industrial setting
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations; familiarity with complementary regulatory and industry bodies preferred
- Experience with:
- International safety programs
- Confined space entry
- Boilers and pressure vessel operations
- Contract management
- Fleet management
- Exposure control protocols
Desirable Skills
- Excellent presentation skills including the ability to:
- Build training materials
- Work with international audiences
- Ability to analyse local and industry safety trends and adjust internal safety programs accordingly
Additional Skills & Experience
- Strong writing skills for clear, concise, and informative communications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to develop and deliver safety programs, training sessions, and policies
- Willingness to travel extensively, including international assignments
- Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrated by:
- Active listening
- Ownership over solutions
- Following up effectively
- Positive interaction with global clients

Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field
- Certified OSHA 500 and 501 instructor license to be obtained within the first year
- Certified Defensive Driving Instructor qualification (preferred)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation (preferred)
