Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

As a Global Account Director, you will serve as the primary strategic lead for a designated global Meetings & Events client, overseeing senior-level relationships that span regions, stakeholders, and service lines. Acting as a trusted advisor to the client, a commercial leader within ALTOUR, and a connector across our global delivery network, you will drive account growth, client satisfaction, and programme innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the executive-level, strategic relationship for a designated Global meeting and Events client, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and long-term value
  • Serve as the client’s primary advocate within ALTOUR—coordinating across operations, program optimization, sourcing, finance, technology, and executive stakeholders
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan and strategic roadmap aligned to the client’s global meeting and events program objectives
  • Identify and drive growth, optimization, and value opportunities within the client partnership in collaboration with the dedicated team
  • Collaborate with regional and in-country partner agencies to ensure seamless global delivery and a consistent stakeholder experience
  • Lead complex global program expansion initiatives for the client, including onboarding new regions and countries with strong adoption of global standards
  • Drive consistent global program design and execution across online and offline servicing models through close cross-functional partnership
  • Own alignment of global operational processes, ensuring regional delivery models integrate seamlessly into the client’s global framework
  • Ensure global data integrity for the client by understanding how booking channels, client behavior, supplier content, and servicing workflows impact reporting and analytics
  • Anticipate and mitigate global content disruption impacting the client
  • Act as a strategic advisor on market evolution, emerging technology, and innovation relevant to the client’s global meeting & events program
  • Lead executive-level discussions on program performance, cost containment, sustainability, client experience, and innovation
  • Ensure client-specific contractual SLAs, KPIs, and commercial commitments are met and continuously improved
  • Manage executive reporting, QBRs/MBRs, forecasting, and performance insights for the client
  • Partner with regional stakeholders to navigate regulatory, cultural, content, servicing, and supplier nuances while maintaining global consistency

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated success managing a large, multi-million-dollar meeting and events client in a global or complex regional environment
  • Proven experience leading large-scale global program expansion for a single meeting and events client across multiple countries
  • Ability to drive global program consistency while accommodating local market requirements and operating models
  • Extensive understanding of local market nuances on a global scale, including supplier landscapes, regulations, and cultural considerations
  • Deep knowledge of meeting and event operations, technology, sourcing, and global servicing models
  • Strong understanding of how global touchpoints—online tools, offline servicing, partner agencies, and suppliers—impact client-level data quality
  • Experience navigating global content disruption with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong commercial acumen across contract structures, profitability, and long-term value creation
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior client and internal stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in a matrixed, partner-led, performance-driven environment
  • High EQ, diplomacy, and the ability to translate complexity into clear direction and execution
  • Openness to market evolution, innovation, and emerging technology
  • Working knowledge of primary platform - Cvent

PAY AND BENEFITS

Our benefit offerings include Group Pension scheme, 25 days annual leave entitlement plus 8 bank holidays (increases with length of service), Private health insurance and dental care, Life insurance with Employee Assistance Programmes, counselling and well-being services, Group Income Protection and Perkbox (staff discount platform).

If Hybrid/Onsite:

The salary range allocated to this role has been developed to give applicants a range based on the local market where the candidate would be working. Many factors, such as years of experience, budget, etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.

This role is also eligible for a 5% discretionary bonus programme based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.
