Associate / Vice President – Corporate Commodities Energy Sales

As an Associate or Vice President within the Corporate Commodities Energy Sales team, you will play a key role in delivering energy solutions to our corporate client franchise, helping clients navigate energy markets and manage commodity risk. You will:
- Own and develop client relationships
- Work closely with trading and structuring teams
- Contribute to the growth of the business

Job Responsibilities
- Manage and grow corporate client relationships across energy markets, acting as a trusted advisor on energy risk management
- Structure and deliver energy hedging and financing solutions tailored to client needs
- Analyze market trends, price movements, and client exposures to generate actionable insights and trade ideas
- Prepare and present high-quality client materials including:
- Proposals
- Market updates
- Trade recommendations
- Partner with trading, structuring, and risk teams to execute transactions efficiently and accurately
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the corporate client base
- Lead or support client meetings and negotiations, representing the firm with professionalism and expertise
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a strong team culture
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Proven experience in commodities sales, energy markets, or a related financial services role
- Strong understanding of:
- Energy markets
- Hedging instruments
- Commodity risk management
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop client relationships at a corporate or institutional level
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate market data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to structure and deliver solutions in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
- Resilient under pressure, with the ability to remain:
- Calm
- Focused
- Solutions-oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly:
- Excel
- PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in energy commodities sales at a bank, trading house, or financial institution
- Familiarity with a broad range of energy products, including:
- Power
- Natural gas
- Oil
- Renewables
- Established network within the corporate energy client space
- Knowledge of relevant energy commodities regulation
- Experience in:
- Mentoring
- Managing junior colleagues
- Additional languages relevant to key energy markets
Regulatory Note
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will, therefore, be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of:
- Fitness
- Propriety
- Knowledge
- Competence and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
