Introducing the Trainline Brand Team 👋
We’re looking for a Global Social Media Lead to build the next chapter of Trainline’s social strategy. This isn’t a caretaker role. Over three months, you’ll define what social should look like at Trainline over the next 12 to 24 months, shaping a bold, scalable approach that reflects where culture, platforms and technology are heading, not where they’ve been. Working closely with Brand, Creative, Content Studio and AI teams, you’ll challenge how we create content, rethink how we work and identify where we can move faster, create smarter and make social a true driver of brand growth across Europe. This role is about building the blueprint: a clear strategy, a modern operating model and practical recommendations that enable us to produce more relevant, social-first content at scale.
In this role as the Global Social Media Lead (3-Month FTC), you will...🚄
- Build a bold, actionable global social strategy for FY28, setting out where Trainline should play, how we should show up and what success looks like across markets.
- Review Trainline’s existing social media strategy, channel approach and content performance to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency and audience engagement.
- Develop clear recommendations for evolving our social strategy over the next 12 to 24 months, positioning social as a strategic growth channel across Europe.
- Redesign how we plan, create and distribute social-first content, recommending ways of working that enable faster, more agile and culturally relevant output.
- Create a scalable content operating model that helps teams increase impact without increasing complexity.
- Identify where AI can transform ideation, production, localisation and reporting, turning those opportunities into practical workflows that improve quality, speed and efficiency.
- Define how Trainline can become more relevant with younger audiences by identifying platform behaviours, creator opportunities and emerging trends that should shape our future approach.
- Provide guidance to the Social Media Executive, influence senior stakeholders across Brand, Creative and Marketing, and bring fresh external perspective that challenges existing thinking.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
