The Role
This Global Sourcing Specialist position focuses on building and managing a global preferred supplier network, driving material-related productivity initiatives, fostering strategic supplier alliances, and identifying new suppliers. You will collaborate closely with site procurement teams to enhance supplier performance, ensuring redundancy and resilience within Diagnostic and Life Science instrument supply chains.
Summary
This role requires strategic sourcing expertise for instrument commodities, including OEM components, PCs, and fluidics, while partnering with manufacturing, R&D, and business leaders. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing a global supplier network to mitigate risks and optimize supply chain reliability.
- Leading cost-saving initiatives, negotiations, and Total Cost of Ownership strategies.
- Strengthening supplier resilience through dual-sourcing, risk management, and performance tracking.
- Supporting innovation in new product introductions and collaboration with stakeholders to challenge and improve existing processes.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Risk Management
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, processes, and policies.
- Ensure supply chain resilience and continuity through risk and contract management.
- Lead dual sourcing strategies and supplier diversification initiatives.
Supplier Collaboration & Performance
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard key global suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance via KPIs and regular business reviews.
- Conduct negotiations to drive cost savings and efficiency.

Innovation & Operations
- Support OEM and manufacturing teams from R&D to full-scale production.
- Partner with R&D and manufacturing to advance cost, efficiency, and innovation.
- Drive process improvements, insourcing, and supply chain optimization.
Technical & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain a technical understanding of fluidics and supplier capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ISO, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3+ years of OEM sourcing experience in a high-tech environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a biotech or medtech industry.
- Strong background in instrument sourcing and supplier negotiation strategies.
