About the Role

BAT is transforming into a global multi-category business with the mission to create a smokeless world ™. We’re seeking a **visionary Global Warehouse Manager to lead the Customer Fulfilment Centre of Excellence (CF COE), driving excellence in supply chain resilience, cost optimisation, and innovation across £205m+ in warehouse-related spending globally.

This role sits within the Global Customer Fulfilment Extended Leadership Team and focuses on:

  • Process leadership in warehousing and fulfilment,
  • Global transformation through lighthouse initiatives and cross-functional collaboration,
  • Technology adoption to enhance capabilities,
  • ESG integration (CO₂ reduction, waste resilience, circular economy),
  • Employee enablement via the Warehouse Academy,
  • Compliance, analytics, and emerging technology exploration.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Govern £200m+ annual warehouse spend, ensuring cost optimisation and targeted savings delivery against TGT (Target Goal) metrics.
  • Define and execute a 1–3 year global Warehouse Product strategy, including processvelopment, capability building, and digital enablement.
  • Partner with Regional Operations Directors (ROMs), DRBU Supply Chain Managers, and finance teams to align fulfilment operations with regional/local business needs.
  • Integrate warehouse operations into the BAT Ultimate Control Tower (UCT), implementing dynamic fulfilment nodes for agile efficiency.

Change & Performance Enablement

  • Lead cross-functional change projects to improve logistics efficiency—balancing traditional and disruptive technologies (e.g., IoT-enabled warehouses).
  • Build and lead a global partner network of Supply Chain Managers to foster common goals, toolkit reuse, and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and promote Multimarket Analytics in warehousing to inform strategic decision-making and negotiations.
  • Establish a Warehouse Resilience Metric to drive materials/operations visibility and recovery planning.
  • Champion ESG initiatives, collaborating with Sustainability Product and SC Dev teams to minimise emissions (reducing Scope 1–3 footprints), increase waste recycling, and support circular economy models.

Compliance, Innovation & Team Growth

  • Monitor and uphold regulatory/benchmark compliance standards globally, including TPD (Tobacco Products Directive) and Track & Trace requirements.
  • Drive innovation via #MakeASupplement program and emerging tech (e.g., automation, data analytics tools), ensuring TaO (Technical Alignment Office) templates are used effectively.
  • Mentor talent through challenges, set high expectations, and deliver results in a matrix structure—fostering agile development across diverse teams.

Annual Topics Focus

  • Lighthouse warehouse deployment, implementing successful pilots from leading markets.
  • Implementation Strategy, supported by frameworks such as the Industry Warehouse Standard (IWS) Toolkit.
  • Digital Readiness Scoping, using Gartner framework or similar to map technology adoption criteria.

Core Relationships

  • Internal: SNO functions (Planning), Regional Operations Directors, Ops Directors, Local/District Supply Chain Managers, Finance, Digital Business Systems (DBS), Procurement, and project stakeholders globally.
  • External: Third-party logistics providers, technology vendors, consultancies (e.g., Gartner), and research partners.
  • Global Scope: All markets & fulfilment hubs within BAT portfolio.

Requirements

Experience

  • 15+ years within supply chain and warehouse operations—prior leadership in local supply chain execution, logistics centre management, or operations (large-scale warehousing critical).
  • Hands-on experience:
    • Contract creation, negotiation, and supply chain process frameworks (e.g., TaO, IWS standards).
  • Familiarity with TPD, track-and-trace systems, and DFM 같은 global regulations. Project/change management—leading transformational programs with trackable ROI.
  • Demonstrated success cross-functional teams in global matrix environments.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to lead exponential improvements through analytical rigor, digital tools, and innovative problem-solving.
  • High influence agility—capacity to persuade partners across silos (e.g., finance, procurement, technology) to collaborate towards KPIs.
  • Political and cultural acumen with a bias toward empowering teams to outperform.
  • Data fluency: Proficiency with dashboarding tools (Private_linked ‘Warehouse Benchmarks Toolkit’), business intelligence, and supply chain analytics.
  • Curiosity-driven mindset with advanced decisionmaking under ambiguity.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent impactful certification (preference given to roles in Supply Chain, Operations, or relevant domain).
