As a member of our team, you will be responsible for handling customer products in a safe and efficient manner, performing essential job functions. Among these job functions are operating various types of industrial equipment. No previous experience necessary we train all team members once hired! If you enjoy trying new things, this is the job for you. Learn how to operate forklifts, jockey trucks, top picks, reach stackers, or cranes. Openings are union positions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be able to work a fluctuating, non-traditional schedule (Gloucester Terminals is a 24/7 operation)
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol screen, as well as adhere to Drug and Alcohol Policy once hired
  • Capable of working in various weather conditions
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to follow instructions within a team environment

Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various tasks to maintain vehicle functional condition:
    • Inspecting and testing equipment
    • Complete preventative maintenance, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, replacing filters, etc.
    • Repairing engine failures
    • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions
    • Replacing parts and components
    • Listening to and understanding operator complaints
  • Verify vehicle capability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in cranes and related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Repair or replace defective components such as hoist systems, gears, motors, and control panels.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
  • Test crane performance after repairs to verify proper operation.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Collaborate with crane operators, engineers, and safety personnel to assess equipment performance and make necessary adjustments.
  • Comply with OSHA, manufacturer guidelines, and company safety policies.

  • Occasionally travel to job sites for on-site service and emergency repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in mechanics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a crane mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic software and hand tools.

Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor directly oversees a growing labor force and all front-line warehouse operations while also being able to perform the essential job functions of a warehouseman. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is accountable for staff efficiency and performance, while ensuring adherence to company standards and regulations. Full Time Non Exempt

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Trains warehouse personnel in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices
  • Manages inventory, counts and audits of all warehouse products
  • Liaises with shipping office, drivers, customers and warehouse personnel to ensure process efficiency
  • Confers with other warehouse supervisors and managers to coordinate activities within the warehouse
  • Updates warehouse manager on daily activities
  • Maintains warehouse storage area by organizing floor space and maximizing work flow
  • Practices OSHA standards and ensures that all safety procedures are followed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate Forklift
  • Identifying damaged goods that have been brought into the warehouse and removing as necessary
  • Identifying damaged boxes brought into the warehouse and repackage as necessary
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds

Preferred, but not necessary:

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Experience handling container cargo (i.e. jockey truck, yard truck, top pick, etc.)
  • Completing pre-shift inspection on Jockey truck including bending, walking, grasping.
  • Driving truck with materials from dock to storage area.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to closely supervise and motivate personnel
  • Knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations preferred
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
