Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Golang Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team building scalable, resilient backend platforms within a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in designing, developing and supporting distributed microservices that process high volumes of transactions while maintaining performance, reliability and security.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with modern cloud-native technologies, and contributing to the design of highly scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services using Golang.
- Build and enhance scalable microservices architectures supporting critical business functions.
- Develop high-performance, resilient applications capable of handling large transaction volumes.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, product teams and engineers to deliver robust solutions.
- Participate in system design discussions, technical reviews and architectural decision-making.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance improvements across distributed systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD practices and cloud-native engineering standards.
- Promote engineering best practices including testing, observability, security and automation.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Golang.
- Experience designing, building and supporting microservices architectures in production environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency and scalable application design.
- Experience developing high-throughput, transaction-heavy applications.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as:
- Kafka
- RabbitMQ
- Strong database experience including:
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- BigQuery
- Other relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience deploying and managing applications using:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and code quality.

Desirable Skills
- Commercial experience with PHP.
- Experience within FinTech, Banking, Payments or Financial Services environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring and logging tools.
