Goods In Inspector

Goods Inwards Inspector

Reports to: Materials Manager

About the Role A Goods Inwards Inspector ensures the safe and efficient receipt, inspection, and storage of all incoming materials, maintaining critical stock accuracy, quality standards, and material availability to support engineering and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Receipt & Inspection

  • Safely off-load delivered goods using forklift trucks in compliance with site safety rules and manual handling procedures
  • Verify delivery documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Conduct goods inwards inspection to confirm materials meet quality, quantity, and specification requirements
  • Identify, record, and escalate any non-conforming, damaged, or incorrect materials per company procedures

Recording & Storage

  • Record all goods accurately and timely in the ERP system
  • Book materials into fixed storage locations, maintaining correct labelling and traceability
  • Ensure adherence to company inventory processes to support stock accuracy

Warehouse & Support Functions

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in goods inwards and storage areas
  • Perform warehouse picking activities to support production and customer orders
  • Assist dispatch operations during peak periods, including packing, labelling, and loading finished goods
  • Support inter-site collections and deliveries between company sites in Cornwall
