Join us in a key governance administration role, where you'll support our Governance Professional by acting as clerk and managing the effective operation of our six Local Advisory Bodies, helping to ensure strong compliance, robust governance practices, and meaningful board engagement. You will also manage the coordination of member recruitment, onboarding, and schedule of policies across Aspire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the annual cycle of Local Advisory Body (LAB) meetings, working closely with Chairs to plan agendas and ensure the smooth running of governance activities. You will attend all LAB meetings in person, acting as Clerk to the Board, preparing documentation, taking accurate minutes, and recording and monitoring actions. Each of Aspire's six schools holds one LAB meeting per term, resulting in 18 meetings across the academic year. Meetings are held across Aspire's schools in Hemel Hempstead and Watford, requiring travel to and from schools. Meetings typically take place during the school day or in the early evening and usually last approximately 1.5 hours.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
