Governance and Assurance Manager
37 hours, All Year Round
Salary: NJC Point 36 – Point 40 (£47,181 - £51,356 FTE)
- Location: Homebased with travel to Head Office/Schools when required
- Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) as our Governance and Assurance Manager, playing a key role in the leadership and development of governance and assurance services across a large and growing Multi-Academy Trust.
Working closely with the Head of Governance and Assurance, you will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of governance, compliance, and assurance activity, ensuring that governance services are delivered professionally, effectively, and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Who We’re Looking For
The successful Governance and Assurance Manager must clearly demonstrate:
- Experience leading the day-to-day management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of governance support and assurance across the Trust.
- Ability to line manage and support Governance Support Officers to ensure:
- Work is effectively planned, prioritised, and delivered to a high standard.
- Oversight of local governance support, hearings, and statutory panels, ensuring:
- Compliance with statutory, regulatory, and Trust requirements
- Consistent application of agreed governance standards.
- Leadership in development and implementation of:
- Governance procedures
- Quality assurance processes
- Service standards.
- Coordination of governance recruitment, induction, training, and development activities for Governors.
- Support in delivering the Trust’s:
- Complaints framework
- Policy framework
- Risk management arrangements
- Assurance activity.
- Support to the Trust's Data Protection Officer in:
- Coordinating and overseeing information governance processes, including:
- Subject Access Requests
- Freedom of Information requests
- Data breach management.
- Coordinating and overseeing information governance processes, including:
- Collaboration with school leaders, Governors, Trustees, and colleagues across ATT to:
- Promote effective governance
- Ensure compliance
- Drive continuous improvement.
