Governance and MDT Coordinator (Fixed Term)

The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham

Full time, 37.5 hours/ week

Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 or 09:00 – 17:00
(Flexibility on shift timings is required to cover out of hours MDT meetings)

Fixed Term Contract until April 2027
Up to £30,000 per annum + excellent benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits package plus career development)


About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Governance and MDT Coordinator to join our Governance Team at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Governance, providing vital support in the day-to-day management of the hospital’s quality and risk framework, including incident, risk, and complaints management. You will also contribute to the preparation of insightful reports and action plans that support key governance meetings and drive continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in establishing and maintaining effective governance processes for the hospital’s Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. Acting as a central point of coordination, you will ensure these meetings run efficiently and that clinicians are supported with high-quality administrative input—enabling collaborative decision-making and the delivery of exceptional patient care.


What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and administer regular MDT and cross-functional meetings, ensuring effective scheduling, attendance, and preparation
  • Prepare agendas, collate documentation, and accurately record and distribute meeting minutes and outcomes
  • Track actions, treatment or management decisions, and service progress using internal systems or spreadsheets
  • Communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders regarding changes, updates, or follow-ups
  • Ensure timely, accurate data entry to support reporting, audits, and service performance monitoring
  • Arrangement of meeting rooms, technology, catering for meetings
  • First point of contact for all enquiries related to Governance and Risk; ensuring that they are acted upon efficiently and to a high standard or fielded effectively where necessary
  • Management of governance related data using IT software systems that includes Datix
  • Administration of accurate and efficient data collection, input and management
  • Assist, prepare and contribute to governance reports and output
  • Providing administrative support to the Governance department which will include incident and complaints management

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous admin experience within a hospital setting is essential, ideally within an MDT role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
