Governance and Performance Administrator

Location: HMP Thameside, Greater London SE28 0FJ Salary: £32,476 per annum plus Serco benefits (including London weighting) Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm

As a Governance and Performance Administrator in our Thameside team, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the effective delivery of governance, performance, and compliance activities at HMP Thameside. Reporting to the Governance and Performance Manager, this role focuses on maintaining administrative systems, ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements, and contributing to high performance standards for both internal and external stakeholders.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative support to the Governance and Performance function, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Collate, maintain, and report on performance data, audits, incidents, complaints, correspondence, and compliance activities.
  • Produce reports and respond to information requests within agreed deadlines.
  • Support external inspections and audits, including those conducted by the HM Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP).
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams (e.g., NOMS) and external stakeholders, including the IMB, MQPL, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Serco policies, Ministry of Justice requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and professionalism across all functions.

This role requires enhanced security clearance, including:

  • Enhanced DBS check (covering spent and unspent convictions, as well as relevant police information).
  • Compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (England & Wales).
  • An Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure the role is suitable for you.
