We’re looking for an enthusiastic and curious intern to join our Governance & Experience team. This internship is designed to give you broad exposure to how we govern the TikTok Shop platform and protect the user experience across a fast-growing and dynamic e-commerce business.

You’ll support ongoing projects, contribute to research, assist with data analysis, and work with cross-functional teams to help us design, test, or improve systems and processes. The exact scope of work will depend on the team you join, but your work will help inform real decisions and drive impact at scale.

As a Project Intern, you will contribute to impactful short-term projects and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills, apply your knowledge to real-world challenges, and explore your career interests.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design or rollout of governance processes, policies, or operational improvements
  • Conduct research or benchmarking to inform team decisions.
  • Analyse platform data or feedback to identify trends, risks, or opportunities.
  • Help document workflows, write summaries, or prepare project materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across product, operations, risk, and policy teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s)

  • Currently pursuing a Undergraduate/ Master's degree in Legal/Finance or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in digital platforms, user experience, or trust & safety.
  • Analytical mindset — able to work with data and draw insights.
  • Clear communicator — able to summarise findings and collaborate effectively.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualification(s)

  • Familiar with E-commerce compliance requirements and internet governance management, with a certain level of business sensitivity and risk awareness is preferred.
  • Relevant experience; experience in e-commerce, content moderation, natural language processing (NLP), or LLM prompt design is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) with the ability to drive decisions through data insights.
