Role Overview:
The Governance Manager will work within the SJP CASS team, reporting to the Group Head of CASS. The SJP CASS team is a regulatory function, overseeing the firm’s compliance with FCA CASS rules. The team has additional responsibilities which relate to maintaining and operating the division's own business continuity plan and overseeing the business continuity plans of third-party administrators, ensuring that the division meets its operational resilience obligations, reviewing and logging non-CASS breaches and performing trend analysis, communicating non-CASS breaches to appropriate stakeholders, and continuously improving the divisional governance processes.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintaining divisional business continuity plans, and co-ordinating tests of the plan.
- Working closely with SS&C and MBA to ensure SJP has oversight of their business continuity plans and exercises. Provide reporting to senior stakeholders to ensure that resilience measures and risks are understood within SJP.
- Organising the agenda, papers and minutes for the SJP/SS&C Operational Resilience Forum so that it meets its Terms of Reference.
- Ensuring that documentation and understanding of our Important Business Services remain up to date, covering the process, associated locations, personnel and technology.
- Monitoring non-CASS breaches in line with SJP risk appetite and raise material issues promptly to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the division's risk and control register is up to date along with relevant actions, in alignment with the corporate risk and control framework.
- Supporting the management of risk by driving the Client Operations risk assessment process, ensuring mitigating actions are appropriate and progresses, and that controls are properly documented, evidenced and that the RCSA process is completed.
- Co-ordinating the progression of all audit and compliance actions owned by members of the division.
- Delivering specific governance related projects as required.
- Ensuring that we comply with the corporate third-party oversight framework.
- Driving continuous improvement in the governance processes in Client Operations.

Essential Criteria:
- Good understanding of relevant FCA and PRA regulations, notably CASS, COBS, operational resilience, and third-party risk management.
- Strong understanding of working within governance frameworks and requirements within a regulated industry.
- An understanding of business continuity and operational resilience principles.
- Experience working with third-party providers and outsourcing models
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
Desirable Criteria:
- Strong understanding of the role of SS&C and MBA.
- Understanding of SJP's proposition and operating model.
- Experience in audit, risk or compliance functions.
