Governance Manager

Interim Governance Role – Professional Membership Organisation

  • £20 – £24 per hour
  • Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week
  • Temporary / On-going

A respected professional membership organisation with a strong public-interest purpose is seeking to appoint interim governance professionals on a contract basis. The organisation operates nationally and internationally with a focus on professional standards, member value, and organisational accountability.

The Role

  • Provide hands-on governance support in a complex, member-led environment.
  • Coordinate governance committees, including:
    • Developing agendas
    • Preparing papers
    • Managing logistics
    • Ensuring accurate, timely minuting
  • Support assurance, compliance, and risk oversight activities.
  • Build effective working relationships across the organisation and its committee members.

Requirements

  • Experience preferred within:
    • A membership body
    • A charity operating in a complex environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially for:
    • Committee coordination
    • Minuting
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving governance context.
  • Ability to:
    • Step into an interim role
    • Build credibility quickly
